Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Centers
Toombs County provides Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Centers to help residents safely dispose of residential waste. There is no charge for Toombs County residents to use these centers.
Please Note:
Out-of-county dumping is not allowed. If you are not a Toombs County resident, please take your waste to the Toombs County Solid Waste Facility (Landfill).
Operating Hours
Center #2 – Gibson / Aimwell Location
- Monday – Saturday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
All Other Collection Centers
- Monday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Tuesday: Closed
- Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Thursday: Closed
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Quick Tip to Remember: We are open every day of the week except on days that start with the letter “T” — Tuesday and Thursday.
Waste Disposal Guidelines
Commercial Waste Notice: Commercial builders must use the Toombs County Landfill.
Accepted Residential Waste Types
Household Waste
- Dispose of household trash in the compactor located at the center of each facility.
- Cardboard is not allowed in the compactor.
- Our site attendant will assist and direct you as needed.
Construction & Demolition Waste (C&D)
- C&D waste includes wood, bricks, concrete, drywall, paper, cardboard, and other non-hazardous materials.
- Use the open-top C&D container for these materials.
- Our attendant will guide you to the correct drop-off point.
Metal Waste
- Use the metal container for steel and aluminum, including appliances such as:
- Washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, freezers, AC units, water heaters, etc.
- Our attendant will help with placement.
Oil Disposal
- We accept used motor oil, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and cooking oil.
- Ask the attendant for directions to the oil disposal station.
Goodwill Donations
- A designated Goodwill donation building is available at the facility.
- The attendant can direct you to the appropriate area.

- Automotive batteries
- Tires
- Paint
- Hazardous waste
- Dead animals
- Commercial waste
